Adom Getachew, IRT’ 08 was named one of the 2023 Freedom Scholars by the Marguerite Casey Foundation. This prestigious award provides a one-time, unrestricted award of $250,000 to each honoree to advance their work. Adom is an Assistant Professor in the Political Science and the Race, Diaspora, and Indigeneity departments at the University of Chicago. CONGRATULATIONS!
Irvin Hunt, IRT ’04 was named to the 2023 Short List by the MAAH Stone Book Award for their book Dreaming the Present: Time, Aesthetics, and the Black Cooperative Movement, published by the University of North Carolina Press. The award is an annual prize given by the Museum of African American History (MAAH) recognizing scholarship and writing within the field of African American history and culture.
