Leislie Godo-Solo, IRT ’91 and Ain Ealy, IRT ’21 met up at a week-long Summer Institute titled Towards a More Equitable and Inclusive Digital World in Latin America, sponsored by the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies at Vanderbilt University and in collaboration with Tulane’s Stone Center for Latin American Studies and Arizona’s Center for Latin American Studies. Angela Batista, IRT ’96
Batista was honored by the University of Vermont (UVM) during their annual Andrew Harris Legacy Reception. This annual event honors the legacy and work of UVM community members who have inspired and strengthened diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Emilie Boone, IRT ‘05
Boone was named a 2024 Museum of African American History  (MAAH) Stone Book Award Winner. She is the author of  A Nimble Arc: James Van Der Zee and Photography (Duke University Press, 2023). Boone is an Assistant Professor of Art History at the Institute of Fine Arts and the College of Arts & Sciences.


Angel Rubiel Gonzalez, IRT’ 06
Angel was elected to the Board at the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) this past year. Angel is the Head of School at De La Salle Academy in New York.

Ianna Hawkins Owen, IRT ‘07
Congratulations to Ianna who joined the faculty of Gender and Women’s Studies at the University of California, Berkeley this summer.

Andrea Bolivar, IRT ‘10
Bolivar was named one of the 2024 Career Enhancement Fellows of the Institute for Citizens & Scholars. Bolivar is one of 20 Fellows selected for their commitment to research and services that increase engagement and inclusion on campus. Bolivar is an Assistant Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Jallicia Jolly, IRT ‘13
Dr. Jolly’s first book manuscript, Ill Erotics: Black Caribbean Women and Self-Making in the Time of HIV/AIDS, is now under contract with the University of California Press. Jolly was awarded the UC Press FirstGen Scholars Grant. Jolly is an assistant professor of American Studies and Black Studies at Amherst College.

Aurelius Troncoso, IRT ’16
Troncoso was named the 2024 – 2025 Miriam Jiménez Román Fellow by The Latinx Project. This fellowship supports post-doctoral candidates and junior scholars whose research advances the study of Afro-Latinx communities in the U.S. Aurelius is a doctoral candidate in American Culture at the University of Michigan.


Khrysta Evans, IRT ‘18
Khrysta is a 2024-2025 Ann Plato Predoctoral Fellow at Trinity College. Evans is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the Educational Policy Studies program with a Social Sciences concentration and a minor in Gender and Women’s Studies. 

Joyce Kim, IRT ’20, ’21
Kim is an advanced doctoral student in sociology and education at the University of Pennsylvania. Kim is featured on Penn’s website From college community to career path | Penn Today (upenn.edu).
