Summer 2026
It’s here!
After admitting our newest class and graduating our most recent, the IRT is thrilled to launch our newest summer workshop. This workshop will continue to build on our previous virtual delivery with curriculum delivery, Chalk Talks, Recruiters Weekend, and opportunities for scholars to demonstrate their learning. I am excited to see how our Summer faculty will continue to develop ways to support scholars through these shifts in higher education and greater society.
Our most recent cohort began their matriculation, with 71% receiving admission to a program. We are proud of our scholars for their accomplishments as they navigate a shifting graduate admissions landscape. So far, 41% of our class reports receiving full funding packages. We also surpassed a milestone with our alumni, now including 64 tenured faculty and over 484 PhDs. We again encourage our alumni to connect with each other through the IRT Alumni Network.
Recently, the IRT staff increased with the addition of Dr. Alba Lamar, IRT ’14 as our Arts and Sciences Program Specialist. We are thrilled to have her join the team to share her expertise in education with our newest cohort of scholars. Dr. Lamar previously served as a statement of purpose advisor and is highly active in the IRT Alumni community. Please welcome her to the team.
Lastly, there are two ways we can continue to use your help. First, our fiscal year closes on June 30. Any gift you can give to our program will make all the difference in providing opportunities for IRT Scholars. Second, please spread the word about IRT! If you know prospective students or institutions, please tell them about the program – we are always willing to connect to support increased educational opportunities. IRT Website
P.S. I finished reading The Injustice Never Leaves You and am sharing my comments. If you’ve read or are currently reading this book, I’d be interested in your thoughts.
